A change of significance – rebranding ASAPS.

During 2011, the two leading authoritative bodies for Aesthetic and Cosmetic Plastic Surgeons in Australia (est. 1967) and New Zealand took part in a significant merge, which led to the renaming of both bodies as The Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS). This served as the catalyst for a significant rebrand which Platform was awarded.

The Challenge and the Opportunity

During this symbolic event, Platform was selected as the winning agency, and was commissioned by ASAPS to develop a series of brand identity concepts, accompanied with an implementation strategy and various supporting brand assets.

This involved a series of concept presentations to the board and to over 1,000 members, where an official vote was held at the 2011 annual general meeting. The concepts were well received by all members, and the winning brand identity now serves as the identity for what is Australasia’s most recognised and authoritative voice for Aesthetic & Cosmetic Plastic Surgery.

The Solution / The Concept

ASAPS’s new visual identity reflects the key attributes of the organisation – to lead the way in innovation through education, training and research whilst fostering excellence and advancement in cosmetic plastic surgery.

The Results

The rebrand had provided ASAPS with:

  • An increased perception of innovation, encouraging trust and unity during a very sensitive period of amalgamation.
  • The new brand has removed the weak aspects of the old brands, enabling a renewed, unified image that is future-thinking, and opening the doors for increased member engagement and advocacy.
